Why I'm Building Epic Teams: A Personal Journey from Division III Soccer to Sports Tech
As someone who has spent years working in sports administration, I've seen firsthand how chaotic managing a college athletic program can be. Between coordinating schedules, organizing travel, and keeping communication streamlined across athletes, coaches, and staff, it's easy for important details to slip through the cracks.
I've always believed that technology should make life easier, not harder. But too often, I saw teams using a patchwork of different apps, spreadsheets, and email chains just to stay organized. I knew there had to be a better way. That's why I'm creating Epic Teams.
Epic Teams is built for college athletic programs that need a single, easy-to-use platform to manage everything from team calendars to athletic training appointments and travel logistics. My goal is simple: to take the stress out of team coordination so that athletes and coaches can focus on what really matters—competing and excelling in their sport.
While Epic Teams is designed to support all athletic programs, my focus is on Division III (D3) schools because that's where my journey as a college athlete began. I played D3 soccer and had an incredible experience, and through my work across all divisions, I've come to appreciate the unique challenges D3 programs face. They may have fewer resources than larger programs, but their drive, competitiveness, and professionalism are just as strong. My goal is to provide D3 programs with the tools they need to stay organized and competitive, making their operations as seamless as possible. Epic Teams is designed to maximize the resources these schools do have, ensuring that every dollar and every hour is used as efficiently as possible to support their athletes and staff.
One of the biggest things I've learned in my career is that great teams don't just happen; they're built through clear communication, organization, and trust. Epic Teams is designed to empower teams with the tools they need to stay connected and efficient without the usual administrative headaches.
I'm excited to bring this vision to life, and I can't wait to see the impact it has on athletic programs everywhere. If you're interested in learning more or getting involved, reach out—I'd love to connect!
